Avoid The Risk
Abstinence education is also known as sexual risk avoidance. If you are sexually active, you are at risk for pregnancy and contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD). The best way to avoid both is by abstaining from sex.
What ELM Center’s abstinence program teaches
- First and foremost, you are created by God. You are precious to Him, and He longs to have a relationship with you.
- God’s plan for you is to avoid a sexual relationship outside of marriage.
- Since pre-marital sex can lead to an unplanned pregnancy, it can harm you socially, psychologically, and financially.
- Sex outside of a monogamous marital relationship can mean physical harm from a sexually transmitted disease (STD) or infection (STI).
- Using alcohol and recreational drugs increases your vulnerability to sexual advances.
- Understanding your worth and value in Christ gives you the self-confidence to avoid sexual relationships.
